Pressing
Towanda Metadyne uses a combination of manual, robotically operated, and rotary mechanical presses in a humidity-controlled environment for most of our production. Over 1,500 tool sets are currently available to make thousands of unique part designs. Our engineering staff has developed all press tooling and parameters to be a perfect match. With close control of the press conditions, and monitoring of green dimensions and weights, we are able to ensure consistency in the finished sintered parts.
Additionally, we have both cold and hot isostatic pressing capability. Our CIP can achieve forces as high as 30KSI allowing us to press larger parts without binders. The HIP can achieve similar pressure while at temperatures as high as 3,630°f, which enables the densification of sintered parts and initial sintering of advanced materials.
